Harvest - Sunday 28th September
Our Harvest service is this coming Sunday - 28th September. We'd love you to join us as together we give thanks for all that God has provided us.
The service is followed by a bring and share lunch. We are also having a collection of food for CIRDIC (Churches In Reading Drop In Centre). While they will gratefully accept most foodstuffs they particularly want tinned vegetables and tinned meat.

Four Invitations
1. ‘Ride and Stride’ - Saturday 13th September
This is an annual event and sponsorship money raised is shared between the Berkshire Churches Trust and your own church. You can take part by manning a checkpoint at St Catherine’s or the Cornwell Centre for an hour (speak to Richard Canning 0118 942 8238), Walking/Cycling around as many churches as you can (I have sponsorship forms – please contact me) or sponsoring someone to do either of these.
2. ‘Grand Day out’ Oxford - Saturday 20th September
The Bishop of Oxford’s farewell ‘do’ events on all day, picnic on Christ Church Meadow and closing service there. See http://www.oxford.anglican.org/mission-ministry/projects/imagining-faith-grand-day/ you do need to book via this link, Evelyn and I are going, let’s arrange to share lifts – let me know if you’re going and I’ll co-ordinate them.
3. Thames Pilgrimage walk - Wednesday 24th September
The Bishop of Oxford is launching the ‘Thames Pilgrim Way’ inviting people to join him along the way. One stage is from Moulsford to Tilehurst, 11 miles, and a number of us are going. If you would like to join us please let me know as numbers have to be in now. See http://www.oxford.anglican.org/oh-happy-band-pilgrims/
4. Sponsored walk Marlow-Reading - Saturday 4th October
Last year some of us did a sponsored walk from Newbury to Reading; this time we’re approaching from the East and via the Thames instead of the Kennet & Avon Canal. Again we’re raising money for the ‘Send-a-Cow’ charity but this time to buy educational supplies to enable children in Africa to get an education. The distance is 18 miles and we’ll organise lifts to the start. Please let me know if you’d like to take part. See http://www.sendacowgifts.org.uk/educate-a-child
